The Cross-Cultural Foundation of Uganda is pleased to invite applications from community museums across Uganda for technical and financial support to strengthen their attendant income-generating initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria
- The community museums must be registered and operating in Uganda
- The museum must have an organised leadership structure with clear roles and responsibilities
- Must be engaged in a cultural enterprise or initiative with a community impact
- Must demonstrate a commitment to cultural preservation and transmission
- Fully operational and open to the public.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Museums that intend to start an enterprise with support from CCFU should not apply.
Selection Criteria
- They seek to support existing community museums that:
- Are involved in traditional crafts, music and performance, oral traditions, traditional foods, indigenous medicine, or other culturally rooted livelihoods.
- Promote cultural identity, knowledge, and expression through enterprise.
- Demonstrate sustainability, innovation, and community impact.
Application Requirements
- Interested community museums should submit a proposal (maximum 5 pages) including:
- Background of the museum/enterprise
- Description of the cultural enterprise
- Objectives of the proposed support
- Expected outcomes and sustainability plans
- Budget estimate (where applicable), not exceeding UGX 10 M
- Contact information.
