Do you have an idea for a project that supports environmental sustainability and involves the community? If yes, then apply for the SG Eco Fund.
Projects should address at least one area of environmental sustainability, including but not limited to the following: climate change; energy; waste; water; food; nature and biodiversity; environmental pollution; or environmental public health.
Categories
- The SG Eco Fund has two categories:
- Sprout
- Your requested funding is $10,000 or less.
- Main
- Your requested funding is more than $10,000.
- Sprout
Examples of Eligible and Ineligible Projects
- Project must improve the environment or advance environmental sustainability in Singapore
- Examples (meets criteria)
- Implement a programme that mobilises residents to reduce/recycle/upcycle household waste
- Organise an event for the community to plant native plants
- Implement innovative green technologies in public spaces for the community to learn, use and take action
- Examples (does not meet criteria)
- Conduct nature walks without educating participants or involving them in environmental action
- Provide fresh produce to low-income households without any engagement on the environmental impact of food

- Project must engage and/or involve the community
- Examples (does not meet criteria)
- Install equipment such as solar panels or food waste digesters, without a plan for the community to participate
- Sell eco-friendly products and services to potential customers
- Examples (does not meet criteria)
- Project must not have obtained funding from other government sources
- Examples (meets criteria)
- Obtained additional funding for the same project from private sector or NGOs
- Examples (does not meet criteria)
- Obtained additional funding for the same project from government agencies
- Examples (meets criteria)
Eligibility Criteria
- The SG Eco Fund is open to the following applicants:
- Individuals: Must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident, above 18 years old, and residing in Singapore;
- Groups of Individuals: All individuals must be above 18 years old and residing in Singapore, and the group must have at least one Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident;
- Organisations: Singapore-registered organisations, including companies, charities, government and non-government organisations.
