The Scripps Howard Fund grants support journalism education by giving students the tools and resources necessary to produce impactful work, and supporting organizations devoted to the advancement of journalism.
Scripps Howard Fund offers journalism grant for community colleges this program is aimed at creating, expanding or improving the college’s experiential journalism programs, with a focus on serving underrepresented students and providing innovative experiential learning.
Purpose
- The purpose of these grants is to use experiential learning to:
- Help grow journalism education programs at community colleges and regional branch colleges.
- Support journalism students from community colleges and regional branch colleges to help them gain valuable experiential learning and/or mentorship.
- Share best practices and learnings about experiential journalism programs at community colleges and regional branch colleges.
Funding Information
- Community colleges and regional branch colleges can apply for a one-time grant of up to $15,000 to create, expand or improve their experiential journalism programs.
Eligibility Criteria
- Community colleges and regional branch colleges based in the United States are eligible to apply.
