Costs Covered
- Direct aid or living allowance
- A grant for equipment to replace destroyed, lost or damaged equipment
- Access to fully equipped workstations to continue journalistic work
- Daily life support and for the installation of Ukrainian journalists in Romania, namely:
- Administrative support by connecting beneficiaries with various humanitarian and consular organizations
- Personalized psychological support
Duration
- The support offered can last from one to three months and can be extended upon request after approval by the selection committee.
Eligibility Criteria
- You are a woman or a man, from Ukraine, residing in Ukraine or in exile in Romania because of the war in Ukraine, or in exile in a neighbouring country wishing to settle in Romania.
- You are a freelance journalist or journalist employed by a Ukrainian media, you have an online media (blog, podcast, YouTube channel, etc.) you work in the media sector or audio-visual industries (director, producer, etc.)
- You have a project, whether it is to write an article, to develop online content, or to work on an film or audio project about the situation in Ukraine. You are looking to develop it, whether your project stands on the initial stages of reflection and already advanced.
- Living in Ukraine, you want to profit of a residence program for a few months to focus on advancing your project or acquiring new skills. In exile in Romania, or in a neighbouring country with the wish to settle in Romania, you wish to be accompanied and benefit from a capacity building program to continue your projects.
Selection Criteria
- The relevance of the proposed editorial or audio-visual project: it should be demonstrated that the project, whether it is already advanced and still being conceptualized, is particularly relevant in view of the war situation in Ukraine. With an informative vocation, the project must firstly allow Ukrainian men and women to be informed as accurately as possible on what is happening in their country and secondly must inform other countries’ audience about the situation in Ukraine.
- The needs in terms of support and accompaniment: the support will be granted in priority to those who do not have the possibility of being supported by other organizations or media, who have not followed beforehand trainings provided by other organizations or media and who report difficulty in setting up or continuing their projects under their current living conditions.
