Applications are now open for 19th edition of Microgrants aims to raise discussions on greenwashing in the year of the COP in Brazil.
Seeking to qualify the democratic debate on important issues for the country, Agência Pública works to stimulate the production and coverage of issues that contribute to public transparency, social justice and the uncompromising defense of human rights.
The reporting micro-grants project is part of the efforts to achieve these general objectives, with a specific focus on reporters who intend to produce independent, innovative investigative journalism in tune with the most relevant discussions for the population.
In this 19th edition, Agência Pública joins forces with Idec, a reference in the defense of ethics in consumer relations and in the fight for consumer rights, to promote the Greenwashing x Energy Transition Microgrants and encourage discussions on the topic in the year in which the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, COP30, takes place in Belém, Pará.
The contest is aimed at reporters interested in independently investigating issues of public interest. The proposed stories should address greenwashing practices by companies that negatively impact the debate on the energy transition and the climate crisis. These actions may include lobbying, solutions that present themselves as “green” but are harmful to the environment, and misinformation, among other practices.
