The Ministry of Culture announces its Books, Letters, and Reading Grant Program for the year 2025.
Books, through the experience of reading, in addition to the pursuit of pleasure and entertainment, enable the reader to delve deeper, searching for the meaning, truths and purposes of life in the texts. Books help the reader to clarify his feelings, to change his way of thinking and his philosophy of life. The meaning that a book gives to the reader’s life is personal and unique to each person.
Eligible Activities
- This call aims to support actions in the field of books, letters and reading and concerns the following categories:
- Promotion, dissemination and promotion of Greek letters and books,
- Support for scientific meetings (symposia, workshops, two-day conferences, seminars)
- Support for reading activities
- Developing a readership among specific population groups, such as the print disabled, the elderly, refugees and immigrants, young people and children
- Support for literary competitions (e.g. literary competitions for young writers, students, print-disabled people, the elderly, etc.)
- Strengthening actions and scientific meetings within the framework of literary tourism
- Strengthening actions to create digital tools in the book sector (applications, databases)
- Digitization of archives of literary interest and books, which will be accessible and open to the general public
Eligibility Criteria
- Legal Entities of Private or Public Law of a non-profit nature, with cultural and/or charitable purposes that have been established until 31/10/2024.
Evaluation Criteria
- The use of innovative applications and programs
- Empowering new writers, translators, creators through their support and the promotion of their work
- The broader interaction and the possibility of interaction with the public through actions, events, competitions, seminars, etc.
