The Toyota Foundation is inviting applications from countries and regions in East Asia, Southeast Asia, and South Asia, including Japan to enable people working to solve common issues in Asia to acquire new perspectives through mutual exchange and learning, thereby broadening the possibilities for the future.

Funding Information
- Total amount of grant funding: 80,000,000 yen
- Grant amount (maximum per project):
- One-year project: JPY 5,000,000
- Two-year project: JPY 10,000,000
- Duration: One year (Nov 2025 – Oct 2026) or Two years (Nov 2025 – Oct 2027)
Expected Outcomes
- Internationality: Set common issues for two or more target countries/regions, and carry out activities in each country/region.
- Transboundary: The team is made up of members from multiple sectors, and in addition to investigating and analyzing existing initiatives.
- Interactivity: Activities incorporate interactions between people in the field (local supporters, people involved, local residents, etc.) and foster mutual understanding.
- Foresight: Gain insight into important issues that society is likely to face in the future and go beyond conventional frameworks.
Eligible Countries
- East Asia: Japan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Mongolia, South Korea, Taiwan.
- Southeast Asia: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Vietnam.
- South Asia: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka.
Eligibility Criteria
- Diverse team based in multiple target countries. Team members could include those with practical experience and knowledge on addressing issues in the target countries, such as practitioners, researchers, creators, policy makers, and journalists and other media representatives.
Application Requirements
- The applicant (representative and project members) must meet the following requirements:
- The representative must be someone whose primary place of residence is in Japan.
- A track record of research, activities, creation, policy proposals, etc. related to the target field in multiple target countries and regions.
- Have practitioners, stakeholders, researchers, and creators in the target field in multiple target countries and regions.
- Operate projects across multiple target countries and regions, based on a network of diverse stakeholders.
