Applications are now open for the CDG-EB Impact Sustainability Education Grant, an initiative aimed at providing financial assistance to underserved students in Singapore and the wider Asean region.
A first-of-its-kind grant in Singapore which aims to transform the lives of underserved Singaporean and Asean youths who have plans to enrol in a tertiary education course with a focus of sustainability and sustainable development.
Funding Information
- The grant awards the recipients up to $S5,000 each to cover education expenses, such as tuition fees, at their school of choice. Students who are under this grant, may also be receiving funding and/or financial assistance from other sources.

- Grant recipients will have access to mentoring and leadership development opportunities, including networking opportunities, workshops, and training sessions.

Target Audience
- Underprivileged youths pursuing a full-time sustainability or environment-related diploma or degree, with an interest in having a career in sustainability.
Eligibility Criteria
- The scholarship is eligible for those intending to study sustainability related majors in diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate education. You can be an existing or an incoming student in a sustainability-related tertiary programme, to be eligible for the grant.
- This grant is open to Singaporean citizens and Permanent Residents (PRs), and citizens of other Asean countries.
- Applicants must:
- Be a citizen of an Asean country (Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Brunei and Myanmar)
- Between the ages of 17 to 35 years from 1st Jan 2024
- If based in Singapore: Have a Household Per Capita Income (PCI) of $3,500 or below per month.
- If based in other Asean countries: PCI suitability will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Apply first!
- Be studying a tertiary course that relates to the field of sustainability and sustainable development.
- Diploma programme at polytechnics
- Bachelors/Masters/Doctoral Degree at universities
- The institution has to based in the Asean region
- Demonstrate academic merit, a strong commitment to community service and leadership and have strong interest in a sustainability career.
