The National Institute of Academic Anaesthesia is inviting applications to support specific research projects in Anaesthesia, Critical Care or Pain Management and may be for salaries or for the purchase of items of equipment.
Funding Information
- The award will not exceed £100,000 for salaries (including Superannuation and National Insurance contributions; the BJA and RCoA decline to contribute to any other indirect costs), equipment (including VAT) and running costs. The BJA/RCoA will wish to share any intellectual property rights and income arising from this work with the host institution.
Eligibility Criteria
- Projects that involve the application of basic and/or clinical science to Anaesthesia, Critical Care or Pain Management will be considered.
- The work may be done in a university science department or in an academic clinical department, but preference will be given to projects involving co-operative research between a basic-science department and a clinical department.
Ineligibility Criteria
- They are not considering PhD studentships in this round.
Application Requirements
- Applicants must submit their application online by the stated deadline. They advise you to allow sufficient time for this and factor in any potential technical difficulties you may encounter.
- Applicants can submit applications to more than one category but these must be on different subjects, i.e. the same application cannot be submitted to multiple categories.
- Applicants must complete and upload their application to ScholarOne Manuscripts as a single file in PDF format. This file should include all the documents which make up the application, i.e. the application form, CV, signed declaration, scientific abstract, lay abstract etc.
- Applicants are no longer required to submit a hard copy of their application to them in the post, however you must make sure that the electronic version that you upload has been fully signed by all relevant parties.
