The Geelong Arts Centre is pleased to announce its Ignition Grants Program for projects that are in the early stages of creation and need support in transitioning from creative development to preparation for presentation.
They are looking for impressive ideas with well thought out project plans. These are projects which have already received either funding, or held a development showing/reading or equivalent, and are now seeking additional funds to develop the project further.
Funding Information
- Cash contribution: $5,000 (+ up to $2,000 in access costs if required).
- Projects awarded a grant in this round must complete their development prior to 2 May 2025.
Expectations
- Attend professional development sessions provided by Geelong Arts Centre
- Attend gatherings to meet fellow grant recipients and to connect with the Creative Engine community of creatives
- Complete studio rehearsal period during allotted eligible time (agreed upon at time of grant acceptance)
- Attend photo opportunity with fellow grant recipients
- Complete an informal acquittal at the conclusion of development period
Eligibility Criteria
- If you work or live in Geelong and surrounding regions or you can demonstrate significant connection to the region, you are eligible to apply.
- They encourage collaboration between artists and organisations from further a field, including with national or international project partners. Please ensure your key project applicant can demonstrate clear connection to Geelong and surrounding regions.

- What are your plans to reach your creative ambitions for this project?
- What do you need for this project to be a success?
- How will you support your own well-being and that of your collaborators?
