Entries are now open for Young Africans Research Academy (YARA) Fellowship Program, a one-year researcher-in-training program designed to equip aspiring African researchers with technical skills, exposure and mentorship to address the research capacity gap in Africa.
Phases
- The fellowship is divided into four phases, each focusing on a critical aspect of research training:
- Phase 1.
- Orientation & Foundation Building (Month 1-2)
- Introduction to research ethics, methodologies, and mentorship pairing.
- Phase 2.
- Research Training & Proposal Development (Month 3-6)
- Advanced research methods, data collection, and proposal writing.
- Phase 3.
- Independent Research & Mentorship (Month 7-10)
- Hands-on research execution, mentorship, and guest lectures
- Phase 4.
- Research Presentation & Career Development (Month 11-12)
- Presentation of findings, career workshops, and graduate school preparation.
- Phase 1.

Eligibility Criteria
- 3rd-year undergraduate student in Ghana (any STEM-related field).
- Strong academic credentials & research interest.
- Commitment to completing the one-year program, including online sessions and boot camps.
- Aspiration to pursue graduate studies (Master’s/PhD) in research-related fields.
