Young Africans Research Academy Fellowship Program (Ghana)

Entries are now open for Young Africans Research Academy (YARA) Fellowship Program, a one-year researcher-in-training program designed to equip aspiring African researchers with technical skills, exposure and mentorship to address the research capacity gap in Africa.

Phases

The fellowship is divided into four phases, each focusing on a critical aspect of research training:
- Phase 1.
  - Orientation & Foundation Building (Month 1-2)
  - Introduction to research ethics, methodologies, and mentorship pairing.
- Phase 2.
  - Research Training & Proposal Development (Month 3-6)
  - Advanced research methods, data collection, and proposal writing.
- Phase 3.
  - Independent Research & Mentorship (Month 7-10)
  - Hands-on research execution, mentorship, and guest lectures
- Phase 4.
  - Research Presentation & Career Development (Month 11-12)
  - Presentation of findings, career workshops, and graduate school preparation.

Eligibility Criteria

3rd-year undergraduate student in Ghana (any STEM-related field).
Strong academic credentials & research interest.
Commitment to completing the one-year program, including online sessions and boot camps.
Aspiration to pursue graduate studies (Master’s/PhD) in research-related fields.
