Deadline: 15 August 2025
The Center for Advanced Studies “Philosophizing in a Globalized World: Historical and Systematic Perspectives” (GloPhi) at the University of Hildesheim (Germany) is offering research fellowships for philosophers from Latin America and the Caribbean for a 12-month or a 6-month research stay at their Center.
The research goal of their Center is to broaden the philosophical canon by creating a platform for exchanges among philosophers from diverse languages, regions, and philosophical traditions. Using the method of polylogue, they encourage scholars to philosophize in their indigenous languages. Fellowships may begin at any time during the year 2026.
In their effort to amplify marginalized and unrecognized philosophical voices and perspectives, they invite philosophers from Latin America and the Caribbean to apply for a fellowship. They particularly encourage applications from philosophers specializing in the philosophies of Aymara/Aimara, Mapudungun, Guaraní, Tucanoan, Nahuatl, Quechua, and other Latin American and Caribbean indigenous languages.
They are also interested in receiving applications from scholars whose research focuses on women philosophers and feminist approaches to philosophy (from a Latin American/Caribbean perspective). Alongside the Center’s core team of researchers and other scholars, the research fellow will engage in collaborative research across regional and national boundaries. Successful fellows are required to actively contribute to the ongoing research project at the Center.
