The SG Academies South-East Asia Fellowship Programme aims to facilitate meaningful collaborations between Singapore’s distinguished research institutions and promising postdoctoral researchers from South-East Asia.
This fellowship offers a 2-year opportunity to engage in impactful research that contributes to advancements in their respective fields.
Topics
- The following research topics are preferred but not mandatory. Applicants may propose any field of research done in Singapore’s research institutions:
- Infectious Diseases
- Population Health/Public Health
- Sustainability, including Urban Agriculture
Benefits
- Monthly stipend ranging from S$4,000 – 6,500
- S$4,000 for overseas travel at start & end of 2-year fellowship period

Eligibility Criteria
- Citizen of an ASEAN country (Non-Singapore Citizen or PR)
- Possess a PhD degree and is working/have a confirmed job offer in a public-sector research entity in home country
- Not more than 40 years old at time of application
- Fluent in written and spoken English
Judging Criteria
- Academic Qualifications & Performance
- Work experience in public research institutions
- Relevance of proposed research in region
- Quality of proposal
- Direct benefit of proposed research to Singapore & home country
- Influence in home organisation
- Likelihood of continuing science research in home country after fellowship
Application Requirements
- Research Proposal:
- No longer than 2 pages
- Host professor/PI’s in-principle approval sent from his/her official email ID
- Certified copies of diplomas and transcripts
- Two recommendation letters from referees (preferably independent referees) stating your suitability for this fellowship:
- The letters should be submitted directly by your referee.
