Applications are now open for the Outlive’s YASP Fellowship Programme to build capacities of young people to enable systemic and policy-level changes to prevent youth suicides.
Outlive will train and mentor 10 youth advocates to design and implement their own youth advocacy plans to engage with policymakers on suicide prevention in their own communities.
What does the Fellowship Offer?
- Foundational training on youth advocacy for suicide prevention through experiential training sessions.
- Understand youth suicide prevention as a policy issue and develop skills to advocate with community members and policymakers.
- Individual mentorship from experts working in mental health and suicide prevention.
- Skills to design and implement an advocacy plan to engage with policymakers on youth suicide prevention.
- One-time stipend of INR 50,000 to support the youth advocates in their advocacy activities.
Who can apply?
- You don’t need to have a background or qualification in mental health or suicide prevention to apply to Outlive’s YASP Fellowship. They are inviting applications from young people who:
- are 18-24 years old,
- reside in Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Gangtok, Srinagar or Raipur,
- are working/volunteering in community based organisations engaging with youth centred issues, and
- are passionate about youth suicide prevention and youth advocacy.
