The Copyright Agency Frank Moorhouse Fellowship for Young Writers supports writers aged 18-35 years to develop and write a new work of fiction.
The Fellowship will provide a genuine career development opportunity for a young fiction writer who has not yet published a full-length work of fiction.

- Grant amount: $10,000
Eligibility Criteria
- Age 18-35 years by the application closing date
- Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
- Applicants must not have previously published any full-length books including chapbooks and novellas
- Applicants must have published short stories or some work in literary magazines, journals, anthologies or online
- Any overdue Cultural Fund grants must be acquitted
Ineligibility Criteria
- Writers who have published a full-length work, in fiction or any genre, are not eligible to apply for this Fellowship.
- As the Fellowship is intended to support one writer, joint applications are not eligible.
Application Requirements
- You must submit the following support material with your application as a PDF via the Smarty Grants online system:
- A compelling and detailed project description
- A sample of your writing (2,000 words) to demonstrate your literary merit
- A one-page CV with details of your published writing
