The Goethe-Institut is pleased to announce its Fellowship Program for Journalists to explore challenges such as declining trust in traditional media, AI-driven content creation, and the rise of misinformation.
Participants engage in interactive formats, including newsroom visits, meet-the-reporter sessions, and the co-creation of a “Knowledge Sharing Handbook” on trust in journalism.

What to Expect?
- Networking program for 12 young journalists from India and Germany
- April-November 2025
- Location: Hybrid, with in-person components across four Indian cities
- Joint development of the Knowledge Sharing Handbook: Trust in Media in collaboration with partners.
- 6-day stay in Delhi, including a final event and the completion of the handbook.
- Workshops in various Indian cities such as Bangalore, Pune, Delhi, and Kolkata will be held on the theme of trust in media.
- Online webinars will be spread across the tenure of the fellowship to support the development of the Knowledge Sharing Handbook.
- Presentation of the Knowledge Sharing Handbook in India and Germany
Eligibility Criteria
- You are a journalist between 20 and 38 years old (including students pursuing journalism and media professionals; open to journalists across all media formats, including radio, television, print, online, and independent media collectives).
- Your country of residence is India or Germany since at least five years.
- You have a minimum of two years of working experience in journalism.
- You have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Journalism, Media Studies, or other relevant fields.
- You have a strong proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
