The South Asia Institute of Heidelberg University has launched a (up to) three-month fellowship program in cooperation with the Max Weber Forum for South Asian Studies Delhi (MWF).
The program is aimed at young researchers from India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka or Bangladesh who wish to establish and develop a research collaboration with the SAI of particular interest are applications from the fields of ethnology, history, political science, economics, geography, modern languages and literatures of South Asia as well as cultural and religious history of South Asia.
Funding Information
- The scholarship includes reimbursement of international travel expenses of up to EUR 1,500, payment of rental costs and a monthly scholarship instalment of EUR 1,200.
- The fellowship begins in October 2025 and runs for three months, the place of residence is Heidelberg.
Eligibility Criteria
- They particularly encourage young scholars in the early stages of their career (3-5 years after their doctorate) to apply.
Application Requirements
- Short cover letter (max. 1 page).
- Curriculum vitae with a complete list of publications.
- A copy of your last doctoral certificate.
- Project description (no more than 2,000 words).
- List of two referees who have agreed to provide further information about you.
