The Dainik Bhaskar is seeking applications for its Ramesh Chandra Agarwal Journalism Fellowship Program to help fellows develop skills in data-driven journalism and multimedia storytelling to create content that’s insightful as well as engaging.
Fellows could be doing in-depth research on a particular story, compiling information for their team, brainstorming for special stories, doing an on-ground report, assisting in an interview, anchoring a video story or even writing a script… the list is endless. Towards the end of the fellowship, they will get the opportunity to train in the department of their choice to further their skills.
By the end of the fellowship, fellows should have the skills and training to progress in their journalism career. Based on their performance and track record, they could also be eligible to earn a full-time position at DB.

Program Specifications
- You will get 12 months of experience, learning on the job at DB.
- You will be placed in multiple newsrooms and will work alongside DB journalists to learn how to create and deliver high-quality, trusted content for their print and digital platforms.
Eligibility Criteria
- They’re trying to solve a very interesting problem for a huge market with the potential to have a massive positive impact on the life of every Indian if they get it right. The market they’re in deserves and desperately needs completely fresh thinking from the ground up to find things that work for India, not just cloning things and copying trends that work in the US and China. This space hasn’t seen any major innovation for years now, it’s about time now. If you’re a creative storyteller willing to solve this problem, this is your chance to train and work with the biggest news organization in India.
- You should also:
- Have a hunger for news, current events, and the greatest happenings around the world
- Already be showing your interest in journalism through some platform. This could be through blogging, vlogging, writing for a student newspaper, freelancing for a content organization, creating content for social media, writing for a website, etc.
- Be creative to help us create stories that will resonate with DB readers and reach new audiences
- Be open-minded and flexible to learn new things at a fast pace
- Have a basic understanding of numbers, content analytics, and data tools.
- Have a graduate or postgraduate degree in Journalism/Communications/Media Studies or Language Studies
- Fluent in Hindi, spoken, read and written.
- Be 27 years of age or below at the start of the program.
