The Climate Hub Tanzania with generous support from Climate-KIC is excited to announce the launch of the Wangari Maathai Fellowship, a transformative initiative aimed at empowering young leaders passionate about environmental sustainability and climate adaptation.
Focus Areas
- Formal Learning: Fellows will engage in structured training sessions, both in-person and virtual, to enhance their knowledge of climate policy, advocacy, project development, personal development, and implementation strategies.
- Hands-on Project Implementation: Fellows will design and execute a Climate Action Impact Project, addressing a key environmental challenge in their community.
- Networking & Policy Engagement: Fellows will have opportunities to participate in climate events, interact with policymakers, and contribute to climate discussions.
- Project Financial Support: Each fellow will receive a sub-grant to support their project, alongside mentorship from climate experts and community leaders.

Funding Information
- The fellowship provides 10 selected fellows with financial sub-grant of €500 each.
- Duration: 8 Months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be:
- Between 20 and 30 years old at the time of application.
- Fluent in English and Kiswahili.
- A recent university graduate.
- Based in Tanzania.
