Deadline: 15 December 2024
Applications are now open for Teach For Kosova Fellowship, a 2-year full-time teaching and leadership development program for outstanding Kosovars to realize their professional and leadership potential while committing to teaching in the classroom.
Teach for Kosova Fellows will be placed in low-resourced, high need public schools, and be supported for two years with intensive leadership development and support.
The role that Teach for Kosova’s Fellows will play is crucial as 42% of the country’s population is under the age of 25. The impact that Fellows will have in the classroom will continue as impact they will have as alumni once they complete the program.
The purpose of the Fellowship, and particularly the leadership development aspect, is to challenge Fellows to see educational issues in broader terms. Excellent teaching is vital; however, they want the fellows to be aware of the conditions that surround a classroom environment and hinder a teacher’s work.
Eligibility Criteria
- They recruit and select talented Kosovar graduates, young professionals and existing teachers from various fields of study to become fellows. They seek young leaders who are open-minded and have exceptional leadership skills .
- Fellows are not required to have teaching experience while applying to the Fellowship Program. If selected for the Fellowship, they will be part of an intensive 5-week training otherwise known as the Summer Institute, where they will prepare for the classes they will teach.
- Throughout the two-year program, Fellows will have ongoing support from a variety of experienced mentors, ensuring that they best lead their classrooms and have a positive impact on students.
