The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention is pleased to invite applications to enable graduates to acquire to the industrial technical skills for the Vaccine Manufacturing Industry.
The proposed programme is designed to equip recent graduates with necessary competences as described by the developed Vaccine R&D and Vaccine Manufacturing Competency Frameworks – Africa CDC.
Participants will gain a 1-year valuable hands-on vaccine manufacturing industry experience, including a strong focus on current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). The fellows will be placed in one of the active vaccine manufacturing institutions in one of the following countries: Senegal, South Africa, and Egypt.
Cost Covered
- Africa CDC will provide the funding which includes:
- Return flight tickets to the industrial fellowship site
- Minimal stipend to support daily expenses
- Visa fees
- Documents to facilitate the visa application
Duration
- The industrial fellowship programme will be undertaken between June 2025 and June 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- The industrial fellowship programme is targeted at recent (not more than 3 years) graduates (Bachelors and Masters) of the following and/or related fields:
- Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences
- Biotechnology
- Additional requirements:
- Citizens of an African Union Member States
- Must possess a valid passport
- Must be available to participate to the industrial fellowship programme in one of the listed countries.
