Applications are now open for the Period Fellowship Program 2024-26, a systems strengthening programme working on reforming healthcare systems to better support menstruating adolescents.
Fellows will work in Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka alongside district-level government officials. Their goal is to collaboratively enhance the capacities of local healthcare centres and introduce the menstrual health behavioural change programme, empowering adolescents to manage their health and access timely care.

What is the programme model?
- Data-Informed Advocacy: Data on menstruation-friendly infrastructure, menstrual products and local healthcare systems is collected to feed back into the government system
- Capacity Building of Healthcare Workers: Capacity Building of adolescent healthcare workers to a) facilitate menstrual health behavioural change sessions b) create safe spaces for adolescents in the healthcare clinics
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Supporting the government in efficient implementation of PeriodShala on the ground
- Strengthening Healthcare Accessibility: Sensitise adolescent-responsive healthcare systems, in partnership with the state governments, to create safer spaces for adolescents
Who can be a Fellow?
- Minimum 25 years of age
- Willingness to relocate to rural regions of Madhya Pradesh or Karnataka
- Full-time commitment to The Period Fellowship over 24 months
- Proficient in 1-lindi or Kannada. (Hindi for Madhya Pradesh, Kannada for Karnataka) Working knowledge of English is preferred
- 5-7 years of working experience in the development sector.
