The Zaman Foundation is seeking applications for its Mehjabeen Fellowship to support Pakistani women conducting primary field research as part of their Master’s or PhD thesis.
Themes
- Human-Ecology
- Exploring the relationship between people and priority ecological systems in Pakistan, with a focus on how local communities impact and conserve nature.
- Music Heritage
- Investigating traditional musical practices in Pakistan, especially those linked to identity, spirituality, and cultural continuity.
- Fellowship is not for music performance studies.
Funding Information
- PKR 300,000 shall be provided to the selected candidates.
- Up to 5 fellowships will be awarded for 2025-2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- Women enrolled in Master’s or PhD programs at HEC-recognized universities in Pakistan.
- Fields include:
- Environment, Ecology, Geography, Sociology, Anthropology, Music.
- Applicants from other disciplines (e.g., Economics, Management) may be considered based on the research topic.
- For Music Heritage: Independent researchers with strong commitment may also apply.
