This competition is open to everyone over the age 18 and is inclusive of staff of the Pacific Community (SPC).
About Women In Leadership (WIL) Programme
The Women in Leadership Programme (WIL) is a pioneering initiative within the Pacific Community (SPC) aimed at fostering gender equality and promoting diverse Pacific women’s leadership. The WIL Programme is managed by the SPC Executive Office with support from the Human Rights and Social Development Division.
SPCsees the programme as the vehicle that enhances SPC’s corporate direction to embed substantive equality through a change in organisational culture, strengthening of accountability mechanisms, policies and procedures that not only support women’s career progression but creates a culture in which all staff can thrive.
Goal: The WIL programme goal is that: SPC is a regional/global leader in accelerating gender equality, inclusion and diversity in the workplace.
Objective: Enhance the representation of women in leadership roles within SPC and thereby ensure that more women meaningfully inform and participate in the strategic and programmatic direction of the organisation.
The WIL programme is based on 3 pillars:
- Our Organisation: SPC’s organisational culture is safe, inclusive and empowering for diverse Pacific women and all staff.
- Our People: Gender equality is a norm at SPC where women are in leadership roles and contribute meaningfully to the strategic direction of the organisation.
- Our Influence: SPC demonstrates strong engagement with CROP and PICT leaders in advancing women’s leadership, women’s rights, and equality across the regional architecture.
The Motif
- The motif pattern will be a recurring design element that will enhance the branding by visually representing its values and goals. For the Women In Leadership Programme, the motif pattern should reflect the essence of strengthening women in leadership while incorporating the cultures and traditions of the Pacific. This can be achieved by using symbols, colours, and patterns significant to Pacific cultures. Additionally, the motif should encourage male champions, symbolising collaboration and support between genders. The motif pattern, ideally will visually communicate the programme’s inclusivity and values, fostering a sense of belonging and creating a memorable brand identity.
