The Residency Programme under Villa Swagatam is open to all visual artists, designers, authors, graphic novelists, illustrators and translators coming from India and France.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applications for residencies in France are open to Indian nationals as well as individuals who have been residing in India for more than five years.
- Applications for residencies in South Asia are open to French nationals as well as individuals who have been residing in France for more than five years.
- A candidate is permitted to apply for a maximum of 3 residencies from the same country in one year. In case you are applying for more than 1 residency, please indicate your order of preference.
Application Requirements
- It is recommended to have the following documents ready before filling out the form:
- A literary/artistic portfolio including texts, visuals and/or links;
- A detailed CV;
- Any other relevant documents you may wish to share [Maximum 3. For example: certificates, recommendation letters, press reviews etc];
- Applicants applying for literary residencies need to be published professionally. For translators applying to Chalet Mauriac, kindly consult the specific page to know additional documents required.
- They also recommend having short texts ready (maximum 250 words per question) before filling out the form to respond to the following:
- Your motivation for applying;
- The nature of the project you wish to work on;
- The correlation between the project you wish to work on and the residency that you are applying to;
- The correlation between the project you wish to work on and your current professional activity.
- Applications should be in English and will only be accepted via this form. The form does not automatically save responses, hence candidates are requested to prepare responses in advance and fill out the entire form in a single sitting. Incomplete applications are not considered, and an application once submitted cannot be modified.
