Tokyo Arts and Space is currently accepting applications for Research Residency Program that gives opportunities to conduct research on arts and culture in the city of Tokyo, targeting both international and local creators in the field of visual art, film, design, architecture, music, sound art, performing art and curation.
This program is aimed at those creators
- who are willing to conduct research activities with their own themes in Tokyo
- who practice in any of the following cultural/artistic fields:
- visual art, film, design, architecture, music, sound art, performing art and curation
What TOKAS offers?
- Living space (single room)
- A twin-bedded room will be provided to creators applying as a duo
Duration
- 6 to 12 weeks within the following residency periods:
- From the beginning of September, 2025 to the end of November, 2025
- From the beginning of January, 2026 to the end of March, 2026
Eligibility Criteria
- Has considerable experience in his/her specialized area of expertise and is expected to make good achievements in the near future
- Has sufficient ability to communicate in English with other residing creators and TOKAS staff for mutual understanding
- Independent and capable of working and living on his/her own
- Creators working as a duo are also eligible
- Students are ineligible (except for Ph.D. candidates)
