Submissions are now open for the SystemSpecs Children’s Day Essay Competition edition 2024.
Topic: Protecting the Nigerian Child from the Dangers of Online Technology.
Categories
- Junior (age 9-12) – maximum 1,000 words
- Senior (age 13-16) – maximum 1,500 words
Criteria
- Submission should only be made by the School, Teacher, Parent, or Guardian. Parents/Schools are advised to preview submissions using the preview link provided so they can effect corrections immediately before submission.
- Only winners from the junior category can participate if they now fall in the senior category, i.e. 13-16 years- old.
- The participation is age-based. For instance, you fall into the junior category if you are between 9-12 years old and the senior category if you are between 13-16 years old. You must also be a student in Nigeria.
- The essay should be submitted as a soft copy only. It should be written in Microsoft Word; Font size – 12; Font Type – Georgia, Arial, or Calibri.
- Language: English
- Number of entries per participant: One (more than one entry submission per participant invalidates your entry and automatically disqualifies you)
- Originality of Thoughts: Entry submission must be the participant’s original thoughts. No plagiarism.
- Eligibility: Children in Nigeria that are 9 years and not older than 16 years by February 20, 2024
- Winners Announcement: Monday, May 27, 2024
- Award Ceremony: Friday, June 9, 2024.
