The Columbia Global Centers in partnership with the Institute for Ideas and Imagination are pleased to invite applications for the Displaced Artists Initiative to support artists who have had to leave their countries of origin due to extreme circumstances (war, natural disaster, political oppression).
Benefits
- An annual stipend of €40,000 net (paid in monthly installments), administrative support, and a small office space at Reid Hall, from September 2025 to June 2026.
- The residency offers time and space to one journalist working on a long-term project. The selected journalist will also be invited to contribute to activities at Reid Hall, such as public lectures, podcasts, workshops, or conferences.
Eligibility Criteria
- Journalists currently residing in Europe are invited to apply for a residency as part of the Displaced Artists Initiative at Reid Hall.
Application Requirements
- To apply, candidates should complete the application form and submit a short CV, two recent work samples (such as published articles or multimedia pieces), and a project proposal (1 to 3 pages) outlining the work they intend to pursue during the residency.
- Please note that applicants must reside in Europe and are responsible for submitting a valid passport and visa that covers the entire period of the residency.
