Journalists, content producers and communication students interested in deepening their knowledge about climate coverage and combating climate misinformation can now submit applications for the Communication Dialogues Program, which begins with the “Climate Coverage Trails” season.
The initiative is being held by the Bem da Amazônia Institute, with institutional support from the Federation of Industries of the State of Pará (Fiepa), and is supported by Climate Tracker Latin America, which will offer individual mentoring and four reporting scholarships to participants.
Journalists who participate in the online and in-person sessions will be able to register for a program with Climate Tracker Latin America, which will offer individual mentoring and support to write a report on COP30.
Benefits

- Economic Incentive: Receive $300 to write a story about COP30, which will be published by Climate Tracker and Amazônia Vox (journalists are free to publish in other media outlets as well, if they wish).

Duration
- The “Climate Coverage Trails” will have four online training sessions in February and an in-person event with online transmission – on May 8 and 9, in Belém, Pará.
Program Specifications
- Active participation: participate in the online and in-person stages.
- Publish a story: You can publish your story on the Climate Tracker Latam website and on the Amazônia Vox website. Participants are also free to publish in other media outlets if they wish. They will also share your article with their Network of Environmental Media Outlets, increasing its visibility and reach.
- Sessions:
- Session 1: Climate policies involve combating disinformation
- Session 2:Introduction and context for climate coverage
- Session 3: Climate Disinformation Clinic (AFP)
- Session 4: Toolkit and guides for climate coverage
Eligibility Criteria
- Journalists from all over Brazil can register, but the places for the in-person meeting will be, preferably, for journalists residing in the Amazon who participated in the online sessions.
