The Coolest Projects USA is a free in-person event for young tech creators based in the United States of America.
Participants can share their projects with family, friends, and their coding community, get fun swag and certificates to celebrate their achievements, and try hands-on coding activities at the event. Partial scholarships are available to support the costs of attending.
Categories
- AI: An AI project is one that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to create something, or to solve a problem using a data-driven approach.
- Scratch: Scratch is a free, block-based visual programming tool. It can be used online in a web browser or you can download it to your computer.
- Mobile apps: This category covers projects that involve interactive apps for phones or tablets.
- Web: Projects in this category are web-based applications on any topic you like, from informative pages to interactive applications.
- Games: This category includes any kind of game made in a programming language other than Scratch.
- Hardware: This category includes robots, machines, and hardware hacks.
- Advanced programming: This category is for projects that have been taken to the next technical level.
Eligible Projects
- Coolest Projects is a showcase for digital making, so your project must use code, computers, or digital technology in some way.
Eligibility Criteria
- Any young person up to age 18, based in the United States of America only.
- Young people can enter individually, or in teams of up to five.
- Young people over 13 can register their own project, or an adult mentor can register for them.
- An adult mentor must register projects for young people under 13.
- All digital making projects are welcome, whether they’re beginner, advanced, or somewhere in between.
