The L’AiR Arts is seeking applications for its Arts Residency at Atelier 11 Program.
The L’AiR Arts residency at Atelier 11 is focused on self-directed individual projects that run parallel to curated group programs, residencies for local professionals, partner programs and events open to a broader community.
The program is designed to provide artists and cultural professionals with the opportunity to carry out artistic projects, develop their research, workshop new ideas, and expand their international network.
The purpose of the residency is to foster cross-cultural exchanges and collaborations between the local art ecosystem, including Paris-based artists, scholars, curators, art critics, institutions, and galleries, and international artists and cultural professionals. Residents have the opportunity to connect with other visiting and local professionals, exchange their ideas and skills, and present their work in various event-based formats, supported by the L’AiR Arts team.
Benefits
- To support the resident’s mobility, research and professional development, the L’AiR Arts program offers the following resources:
- Travel expenses to and from Paris (up to €500)
- Accommodation and work space at Atelier 11
- Living expenses (€1000/month)
- Stipend towards research and/or production (€500)
- Programming and event support (open studio, exhibition, talk, etc.)
- Networking and research support (relevant visits and meetings)
- Communications support (website, e-news, social media)
- One-year Association membership and opportunity to participate in other residency projects and events
Eligibility Criteria
- The L’AiR Arts residency program at Atelier 11 mirrors the symbol for equality = a horizontal exchange between artists and cultural professionals from various cultural backgrounds, of different ages and genders, working in any medium and at all stages of their professional careers. To attend the residency, the candidate must be:
- Active in their professional life with focus on sculpture/installation practice (production is not expected during the residency).
- Proficient in English to be able to interact within the international community. Knowledge of French is not required.
- Sufficiently independent to manage their residency.
- The Atelier 11 residency program is designed for artists and cultural professionals who wish to develop their artistic research and/or project on a topic/theme of their choice.

- CV, bio/artist’s statement, and portfolio
- Letter of intent: reasons for applying, project description and objectives.
