The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund is inviting grant applications to conduct a municipal-level assessment of the School Nutrition Environment and legal assessment of food environment in 24 schools of Chandrapur Municipality in collaboration with the institution which will be selected through open bidding process and the Chandrapur Municipality, Rautahat District of Madhesh Province.
UNICEF intends to engage with national/International institutional contract to assess the school nutrition and food environment in Nepal and legal assessment of food environment at Chandrapur Municipality, Rautahat district, Madhesh Province, Nepal.
Objectives
- To adapt the Nutrition Environment Assessment Toolkit for Schools (NEAT-S) and legal assessment on food environment toolkits to Chandrapur Municipality of Madhesh Province, Nepal.
- To assess the nutrition environment of schools at Chandrapur Municipality using the Nutrition Environment Assessment Tool for Schools (NEAT-S) and NEAT-S and legal assessment on food environment toolkits.
- To explore strategies to improve nutrition environment indicators based on the NEAT-S and legal assessment on food environment findings in a participatory stakeholder workshop at Chandrapur Municipality.
- To use the tool to advocate for improving school nutrition environment and food environment in 29 municipalities integrated within the routine school monitoring efforts.
Duration
- The Contract duration is 5 months from signing date of contract.
- The expected starting date is 01 June 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
- Qualification of contractor company or Institution:
- 5 years of experienced company or Institute in behavioural/Implementation Science Research in the field of health and nutrition.
- Having 5 reference report of similar nature of work that the company performed in past.
- Having 5 references showing the company has previous work experience in the public health nutrition related research/study.
- Qualification of Key personnel/s:
- NEATS Team leader (1 person):
- Master’s or advance university degree focused on nutrition, epidemiology, global health and implementation science research, Ph.D is preferred
- At least 3 years’ experience in public health and nutrition related survey, research and study.
- Fluent in English and Nepali language.
- Research Project Coordinator (1 person):
- Master’s in public health, nutrition, clinical nutrition or equivalent degree.
- At least2 years’ experience in public health and nutrition related survey, research and study.
- Fluent in English and Nepali language.
- Research Assistant (3 person):
- Bachelor’s in public health, nutrition, clinical nutrition or equivalent degree. At least 1 years’ experience in public health and nutrition related survey, research and study. Fluent in English and Nepali language.
- Lawyer (1 person):
- Bachelor’s in law or equivalent degree.
- 2 years’ experience in legal document translation.
- Having license for official document translation from NOTARY.
- Fluent in English and Nepali language.
- NEATS Team leader (1 person):
Application Requirements
- Submission of Proposal (Technical & financial) in two separate files/attachment. And to assure that Vendors shall not include any financial price in their technical proposal.
- Legal Company Registration/Business Registration
- VAT registration (only for national firm/NGO/INGO (legally authorized to provide business services)
- Tax clearance certificate of last Fiscal Year or extension of timeline for VAT clearance certificate
- Power of Attorney to submit proposal (applies when joint partner)
- Vendor Registration form (for new vendor)
- Declaration Form (page 3-5 in the bid form) filled in. (all boxes must be ticked/answered)
- Financial Audit Report for the last 2 years.
- Declaration that Bidders have no Conflict of Interest
- Validity of Proposal is provided as per UNICEF Solicitation requirement
