The EU CodeWeek is seeking applications for its CODE4PORTUGAL Competition to foster creativity and the development of programming skills, encouraging participants to create innovative solutions to specific problems through the use of coding technologies.
Funding Information
- Total funding available: 2,500,00 €
- One project will be selected to receive a financial prize of 2,500 euros.
Uses of the Funds
- Specific request from participants regarding the need and specific use for which the funding will be allocated to the winning projects.
- Required documentation, taking into account the following criteria:
- The evaluation committee will assess a detailed explanation of the use that will be made of the – Participant profile: funds received, as well as the amounts needed to finance the project in the short/medium term and plans to obtain additional funds if necessary.
- Eligible costs:
- Travel and subsistence allowances: Costs associated with travel necessary for the implementation of the project, including accommodation and subsistence allowances, in accordance with the normal eligibility criteria.
- Equipment:
- Costs associated with the purchase or lease of equipment considered essential for the execution of the project, subject to applicable amortization rules.
- Consumables and supplies: materials and supplies used directly in the Project activities related to the project.
- The project must be related to improving education through technology.
- Subcontracting costs: Costs of external experts or services required for specific tasks that cannot be performed by the project partners themselves.
Beneficiaries
- The competition is aimed at teachers working in educational centers in Portugal that promote initiatives (hackathons, innovation camps, immersive experiences…) related to programming/robotics of all ages and experience levels.
Selection Criteria
- The winning projects will be chosen by an evaluation committee composed of 3 experts from the private sector (technology companies), the public sector (ERTE) and the educational sector.
- The decision of the Evaluation Committee is sovereign and cannot be appealed. The Evaluation Committee may decide not to award one of the two prizes if the minimum characteristics required for the award are not met.
- The selection process must be conducted impartially and objectively, avoiding any conflict of interest or favoritism.
