Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), in collaboration with MyGov, is inviting citizens to participate in the Poster-Making Competition, which aims to reach the masses through creative means and the involvement of the public at large, creating awareness of legal adoption and the safe surrender of children.
Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) is a statutory body of the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India. It functions as the nodal body for the adoption of Indian children and is mandated to monitor and regulate in-country and inter-country adoptions under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Child) Act, 2015 (amended in 2021). CARA is designated as the Central Authority to deal with inter-country adoptions in accordance with the provisions of the Hague Convention on Inter-country Adoption, 1993, ratified by the Government of India in 2003.
CARA primarily deals with the adoption of orphaned, abandoned, and surrendered children through its associated or recognized adoption agencies. Every year, November is marked as Adoption Awareness Month. With the objective of promoting and making people aware of legal adoption and safe abandonment or surrendering. CARA is trying to reach a larger population. All states are encouraged to organize events in November to draw attention to adoption-related issues. This year, the emphasis is on the adoption of children who are older, children with special needs, or children currently in foster care.
Every year, November is marked as Adoption Awareness Month. The Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), under the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, celebrates child adoption and makes people aware of the legal process of adoption & safeguarding of children.
Competition Themes
- The themes of the competition are:
- Embrace love; transform lives.
- ‘Adoption’ is a gift of hope.
- Children need to be loved & feel like they belong.
Award Information
- The top 15 winners will be rewarded with a cash prize of INR 3000 each.
Terms and Conditions
- The competition is open to all citizens.
- The participants may hand draw/ sketch the poster on A3 or A4 pages for Physical entry submission or create digitally designed posters through computer software for digital submission.
- Posters can be submitted in PDF or JPEG format.
- Entries must be original works by the creator.
- It should be ensured that the uploaded poster is clearly visible along with the text and graphics/ image.
- Participant needs to register themselves at MyGov to participate in the contest.
- You will be required to provide your name, email address, telephone number and postal address. By submitting your contact details, you will be giving consent to use these details for the purpose of the contest.
- Once submitted an entry cannot be withdrawn.
- One participant can participate only once. Multiple entries from the same entrant will not be considered and will be discarded.
- Organizers will not accept any responsibility for entries that are lost/ late/ incomplete or have not been transmitted due to computer error or any other error beyond the organizer’s reasonable control. Please note proof of submission of the entry is not proof of receipt of the same.
- In the event of unforeseen circumstances, organizers reserve the right to amend or withdraw the contest at any time. For the avoidance of doubt, this includes the right to amend these terms and conditions.
- By entering the contest, a participant accepts and agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
- Organizers reserve all rights to disqualify or refuse participation to any participant if they deem participation or association of any participant which is detrimental to the contest or the Organizers or partners of the competition. The registrations shall be void if the information received by the Organizers is illegible, incomplete, damaged, false or erroneous.
- Organizers’ decision on the contest shall be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the same.
- CARA and MyGov have all the rights to use submitted designs in the rightful manner.
- These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Indian Judiciary.
