Deadline: 15 July 2024
The Panel Literature Association and the Municipality of Józsefváros are inviting submissions for the Artworks “One day in Józsefváros”.
This is a first-time collaboration between Panel Literature Association and The Municipality of Józsefváros (Közösségi Részvételi Iroda – Józsefváros and Közösségeiért Nonprofit Zrt)!
Józsefváros is one of the most vivid and vastly developing neighborhoods in Budapest. It has different faces. It can turn to you with its bright side, or it can demonstrate its unique shabbiness. If one walks through Józsefváros, they see how it changes from street to street, from quarter to quarter. What it is like to live in Józsefváros? How is it different from the other parts of Pest? What stories does it tell? What images and colors does it absorbe? Let’s explore together!
As a participant of The Neighbourhood Fest 2024 (Szomszédünnepek 2024), they are putting together a program that will include:
- Art show with the AI elements
- poetry booklet (and poetry readings)
- urban sketch workshop
What they are keen to get?
- Artworks, produced in different media (paintings, photos, collages, digital art, video art, installations) that tell a story about one day in Józsefváros.
What to keep in mind?
- They don’t want to limit the artistic expression, but they encourage the artists to keep in mind the theme – “One Day in Józsefváros”.
Who can submit?
- Professional or amateur artists who live in Budapest. Not necessarily in Józsefváros. But, of course, locally based artists are more than welcome to submit, too.
