Deadline: 5 May 2024
The Starving Artist is excited to call upon passionate artists with a focus on menstruation to participate in our upcoming virtual exhibition, and publication “Blood Stains Like Ink”.
Often there is a sense of ‘othering’ when young girls and women go through their menstruation experiences. On the surface periods may seem like ‘part of life’ but there are immense challenges, hurdles and internal struggles that are often neglected in the menstruation discourse. These experiences are intensified through a gendered-lens and this exhibition delves into the profound impacts of menstruation on the sense of belonging, struggles and identity of women who endure diverse menstruation experiences.
