The Internet Society is excited to announce that the 2025 Internet Hall of Fame nominations process is officially open! They proudly celebrate the pioneers and unsung heroes whose impact, influence, reach and innovation continue to transform the digital world.
The Internet Hall of Fame recognizes a select group of visionaries, leaders, and luminaries who have made significant contributions to the development and advancement of the Internet. In addition to those who have been more visible, the Internet Hall of Fame seeks nominees who have made crucial, behind-the-scenes contributions.
From the bold dreamers who pushed boundaries to the behind-the-scenes influencers whose contributions quietly powered the revolution, the Internet Hall of Fame honors those who have left an indelible mark on global connectivity and progress.
Nominate someone extraordinary and ensure their legacy is celebrated and remembered, inspiring younger generations to dream big and make a difference.
Eligibility Criteria
- Individuals are eligible for nomination if they have significantly helped create, develop or expand the global Internet. This includes individuals working in visible or behind-the-scenes roles.
Evaluation Criteria
- Impact: Impact on the development or growth of the Internet that is directly related to its advancement or evolution.
- Influence: Influence over society at large, the work of others in the field, the next generation, and/or another important group.
- Reach: Reach related to the expansion of the Internet to bridge the digital divide and enrich people’s lives with global impact or within key audiences or specific geographies.
- Innovation: Innovation in creating new paradigms, eliminating obstacles, or accelerating advancements for the Internet.
