French Institute in Egypt “Les Premières” Programme

Between May 2024 and February 2025, 6 projects in their production phase will be selected and receive:

• A production grant of 110k egp based on the presented project, including the equipment renting/or purchase.
• access to the auditorium for 8 practice sessions (over a period of 1 month)

Each project will then be presented to the public as part of the cultural programme of the Institut Français d’Egypte

• 1 performance in Cairo and 1 in Alexandria

An exhibition will be held for the multimedia projects.

Eligibility

• They invite young professional and professional artists and performers, working in the fields of music, theatre, dance, or multimedia, whether working individually or in a group, to apply.
• No age limit is required. No registration is required.
• The artist/ group/ troupe must have a previous professional experience, and that the project is developed and in its final phase of production.
• Applications to be submitted must include:
  • Biographies of the director and the artists
  • Portfolio of the artist or presentation of the company (if a company or collective)
  • A detailed description of the current project: artistic concept and production schedule
  • Production budget
  • Photos and videos of the current project (shared via wetransfer or vimeo link)
  • IFE information form (downloadable online from the IFE website)
