Ey!Studio is pleased to announce an open call for the European Mobility Residences programme aimed at resident women artists from any member country of Creative Europe, except Spain, interested in artistic research and able to address issues from a critical perspective.
The #Ey!MAD arise from a commitment to participatory processes and the democratization of contemporary artistic practices, especially aimed at involving the community fabric of the district of Carabanchel.
The main objective is to carry out a contextual project starting from the Carabanchel district to establish connections, in a broad sense, with various stakeholders in the district, including associations, residents, and others, based on the proposed research line.
What do they offer?
- 2 artistic residencies of 2 months (60 days) for 2 women artists of any nationality, residing in any country within Creative Europe, except for Spain.
- A workspace and accommodation during the months of residence in #Ey!Studio with all expenses and services included.
- Financial endowment of 1500€ taxes included, covering copyright, production, subsistence and project presentation,to be disbursed upon submission of all requested documentation by #Ey!Studio, such as a report, texts, finished work, edited videos, etc.
- A travel allowance of up to 350€ for distances between 600-5000 km, or up to 700€ for journeys over 5000 km. If the distance is not more than 600 km, air travel is not permitted.
- A plus will be financially supported to applicants who opt for more sustainable mobility such as train, bus, car share or boat with a plus of 350€ to help artists and professionals as it may require extra costs/time.
- Proof of travel will be required.
- Applicants from overseas countries and territories/outermost regions will be awarded a 150€ grant to support applicants coming from or travelling to these regions.
- Plus 80€ to cover visa fees if needed.
- Family supplement of 100€ to help those who have custody of children under 10.
- Logistical support, accompaniment and mediation with the context provided by the #Ey!Studio management team.
- Printed publication of Residences #Ey!MAD 2025.
- Dissemination and promotion of the artist’s work.
- Public presentation on May 16, 2025 .
- Professional photographic documentation of the public presentation.
- A video explaining the project.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be legally resident in one of the member countries of Creative Europe: Albania, Austria, Armenia, Belgium, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Tunisia, Ukraine. Or in one of the 9 outermost regions: Azores (Portugal), French Guiana (France), Guadeloupe (France), Madeira (Portugal), Martinique (France), Mayotte (France), Réunion (France). ) and Saint-Martin (France); Or in one of the 13 overseas countries and territories: Aruba (Netherlands), Bonaire (Netherlands), Curaçao (Netherlands), French Polynesia (France), French Southern and Antarctic Territories (France), Greenland (Denmark), New Caledonia (France), Saba (Netherlands)Saint Barthélemy (France), Sint Eustatius (Netherlands), Sint Maarten (Netherlands), Saint Pierre and Miquelon (France) and the Wallis and Futuna Islands (France).
- Applicants must be women of any nationality but legally residing in the countries mentioned above.
- There is no age limit.
The condition of migrant women
- They are interested in projects that highlight the tangible and intangible heritage of the past and present conditions of migrant women from a gender perspective.
- It’s important to note that they will give priority to the research process and that the final format they request will be a public presentation, which can be a performance, actions, installation, video, ephemeral interventions, workshop, reading, concert, guided tour, etc.
