CFPs: Residence for Foreign Artists in Czech Republic

This residency is open to creators who, for these reasons, are looking for a new environment for their work and want to share their perspective and experience with the Prague and international artistic community.

Benefits

• The residence includes:
  • studio at MeetFactory;
  • monthly allowance for expenses in the amount of CZK 17,000;
  • production budget in the amount of CZK 10,000 / open studio (presentation of work to the public);
  • international networking, curatorial and production support.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • demonstrate a professional career of at least 5 years (including realized solo and group exhibitions and project proposals);
  • have completed studies;
  • during the residency, adjust your professional commitments in favor of active participation in residential life at MeetFactory, such as open studios, coffee hours and other regular meetings (a necessary condition for receiving the monthly allowance).

Assessment Criteria

• Applications will be assessed by a committee composed of members of the MeetFactory residency program team.
• The results will be published by January 10, 2025 on the MeetFactory website.
• The artistic committee reserves the right to reject any project without giving reasons for its decision.
• The committee’s decision is final and cannot be appealed.
• Applicants will be informed of the results of the selection process by email on January 10, 2025, and the results will also be published on the MeetFactory website.

Application Requirements

• The application must include:
  • curriculum vitae;
  • portfolio of max. 10 pages;
  • cover letter of max. 3,600 characters, which will contain:
    • artist statement,
    • answer to the question of how the applicant will use the residency as part of his artistic practice;
  • indicating the preferred term of residence.
