Students and Youth Working on reproductive Health Action Team (SAYWHAT) is announcing the call for the 3rd Cohort of the 2024 Young Researchers’ Initiative Program.

- Successful applicants will have an opportunity to take part in an intensive 6-months research mentorship program.
Program Themes
- The 3rd Cohort will be running under the theme ‘Envisioning Youth-Driven Programming on Emerging Issues in Southern Africa’.
- Interested candidates are invited to submit 500-word proposals highlighting the topic, research problem, objectives, and methodology on one of the following themes:
- Intersection between climate change and public health
- Intersection between Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and Vuzu parties
- Maternal health
- Menstrual health management
- Mental health and well-being
- Sexual harassment, exploitation, and abuse.
- Child protection and child marriages (laws, and policies)
- Drug and Substance Abuse (DSA)
- Disaster preparedness and management
- Promoting Inclusivity through policies
Eligibility Criteria
- All tertiary education students within the SADC region are eligible to respond to this call.
- Final-year students (those embarking on their dissertation journey), persons with disabilities (PWD), and female students are highly encouraged to apply.
