Deadline: 16 May 2025
The Health-Holland is pleased to announce its Driving Sustainable Health and Nutrition Project to support collaborative research and innovation projects between Danish and Dutch partners.
This joint call invites consortia with partners from both countries to work together on advancing plant-rich diets to achieve sustainability, public health, and climate goals. By leveraging complementary expertise and strengths in Denmark and the Netherlands, this call aims accelerate transformative solutions in the agri-food system.
Themes
- Theme 1: Development of Nutritious, Sustainable Plant-Rich Products
- Focus on the nutritional quality, health benefits, and consumer acceptance of plant-rich diets. Projects should explore innovations in product development to enhance the taste, texture, and nutritional profile of plant-rich foods. This includes research on optimizing formulations, using alternative proteins, and incorporating health-promoting bioactive compounds to create products that meet consumer demands while contributing to sustainability goals and public health concerns.
- Theme 2: Public Awareness of Healthy Sustainable Diets via Effective Consumer Engagement and Education
- Examine the role and effectiveness of consumer behavior interventions, food environment improvements and market strategies in promoting sustainable dietary transitions. Projects may explore for instance effective communication campaigns, behavioral nudges, pricing strategies, and placement techniques to increase the attractiveness and adoption of plant-rich and hybrid food products. This theme also emphasizes education and awareness initiatives that highlight the environmental and health benefits of sustainable diets, aiming to shift cultural perceptions and empower consumers to make informed choices.
Eligibility Criteria
- All projects must be joint applications involving partners from both countries.
- There are specific requirements for Dutch and Danish partners (incl. enterprises, trade associations, sector organizations, NGO’s, research institutions, and (regional) public institutions).
