Call for Participants: Integrity Leadership Development Program – Kenya

Are you a young individual between the ages of 18 and 27, residing in Kilifi County? Are you passionate about promoting integrity, combating corruption, and driving positive change in your community? If so, Youth for Integrity Building (YIB) organization invites you to participate in the Integrity Leadership Development (I-Lead) Program.

YIB envisions a world in which all individuals and communities have the tools and resources they need to sustainably thrive, and where integrity, democracy and social justice are valued and promoted. The I-Lead Program aims to empower individuals with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to become effective leaders in promoting integrity, combating corruption, and fostering social justice and sustainable development in their communities.

Program Objectives

  • To develop a deep understanding of the concept of integrity and its importance in society.
  • To recognize and analyze different forms of corruption and their impact on communities.
  • To develop strategies and action plans to promote transparency, accountability, and good governance in public institutions.
  • To enhance communication skills and utilize storytelling to effectively advocate for integrity and combat corruption.
  • To build and sustain partnerships with stakeholders to promote integrity initiatives.
  • To identify and implement innovative solutions and technologies to promote integrity.
  • To develop project management skills to effectively plan, implement, and monitor integrity-focused initiatives.
  • To cultivate ethical leadership qualities and values to promote integrity and social justice.

Modules

  • Module 1: Introduction to Integrity and Anti-Corruption
    • Objectives
      • Understand the concept of integrity and its importance in society
      • Explore the different forms of corruption and their impact on communities
      • Analyze the root causes and consequences of corruption
  • Module 2: Promoting Transparency and Accountability
    • Objectives
      • Examine the role of transparency and accountability in preventing corruption
      • Understand the principles and practices of good governance
      • Identifying strategies to promote transparency and accountability in public institutions
  • Module 3: Effective Communication and Advocacy for Integrity
    • Objectives
      • Develop effective communication skills for effective leadership
      • Understand the power of storytelling and persuasive communication
      • Build a compelling advocacy campaign to raise awareness about integrity issues
      • Develop effective conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Module 4: Building and Sustaining Partnerships for Integrity
    • Objectives:
      • Explore the importance of collaboration and partnerships in promoting integrity
      • Identify potential stakeholders and develop strategies for engagement
      • Build and sustain effective partnerships for integrity initiatives
  • Module 5: Implementing Innovative Solutions for Integrity
    • Objectives:
      • Explore innovative approaches and technologies to promote integrity
      • Understand the role of social entrepreneurship in addressing integrity challenges
      • Develop and implement innovative solutions to promote integrity in communities
  • Module 6: Project Management and Monitoring
    • Objectives
      • Understand the key principles of project management for integrity initiatives
      • Set SMART goals including;
        • Prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively
        • Overcoming procrastination and staying motivated
      • Develop a project plan and timeline for implementing integrity-focused initiatives
      • Monitor and evaluate the impact of integrity projects and initiatives
  • Module 7: Leadership and Ethics
    • Objectives
      • Understand leadership and explore qualities and characteristics of ethical leaders
      • Analyze the ethical dilemmas faced by leaders and making informed decisions
      • Develop personal leadership skills and values to promote integrity
      • Understand effective team dynamics and collaboration including;
        • Identifying different leadership styles and their strengths
        • Adapting leadership styles to different situations
        • Emotional Intelligence and Self-Awareness
  • Module 8: Final Project Presentation and Reflection
    • Objectives
      • Present the final integrity-focused project developed during the program
      • Reflect on the learning journey and personal growth as integrity leaders
      • Identify next steps and action plans for continuing to promote integrity in communities.

Budget and Timeline

  • A detailed budget and timeline will be developed based on the program components, duration, and the number of participants. Funding opportunities from government agencies, international organizations, and private sector partnerships will be explored to ensure the successful implementation of the program.

Program Methodology

  • The program will utilize a combination of interactive workshops, case studies, group discussions, experiential learning activities, and practical assignments. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with experts in the field, collaborate with peers, and apply their learning through real-world projects.

Target Participants

  • The program is open to individuals from various sectors, including government, civil society organizations, private sector, academia, and youth groups. Participants should have a strong interest in promoting integrity, combating corruption, and driving positive change in their communities.
