The City of Mitcham with its Public Art Expressions of Interest Program is giving an exciting opportunity to artists, groups, and organizations to contribute innovative and inspiring works that celebrate creativity, engage the community, and reflect the unique character of the City of Mitcham.
Funding Information
- With a total funding pool of up to $38,000 + GST, Council seeks to support multiple projects within this round, offering funding from $1,000 to $10,000 + GST per project.
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to individuals, groups, or organizations.
- Projects must be new and primarily benefit the City of Mitcham community.
- Artwork must be located within City of Mitcham boundaries.
- Applicants must follow Australian and Torres Strait Islander Protocols (ATSI).
- Previous applicants can re-apply.
- Artists must hold Public Liability Insurance (minimum value $20Million).
- The artwork must reflect and connect to the unique character, history, or identity of the area, enhance the visual appeal of the community, and/or incorporate a meaningful community engagement component.
- A brief concept or description of the proposed artwork is required.
- Artworks must be completed by 30 June 2025.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Grants cannot be used for:
- Reimbursement of funds for completed projects.
- Regular maintenance or operational costs.
- Applicants who received public art funding in 2023/24.
