The United Nations Development Programme in partnership with the European Union and the Government of Denmark are announcing a call for applications for the Youth Ideathon.
This year, the focus of the event is the revival and strengthening of local youth policy implementation.
They are looking for motivated participants with interesting and original ideas who are ready to develop their potential and join the reconstruction and renewal of communities.
Priorities
- Promoting the restoration and strengthening of youth policy implementation at the local level to ensure the active participation of youth in community life and create favorable conditions for its development.
- Building intersectoral cooperation for social cohesion in the context of youth policy – by coordinating actions between units working with youth and other stakeholders at the local level (educational, cultural, public institutions, etc.).
Funding Information
- Based on the results of the ideathon, participants will be able to apply for a project competition from UNDP and receive support for their implementation in the amount of up to 3,000 USD. Please note that UNDP will support only non-profit initiatives and only those that fall under the priorities of the competition.
- Duration: May 14–16, 2025 (excluding travel days).
Eligibility Criteria
- The Ideathon is for 50 motivated youth leaders aged 18 to 35 who:
- live and work with youth in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Kherson regions (in territories controlled by the Government of Ukraine), as well as persons who were forced to leave Donetsk and Luhansk regions and are currently in other parts of Ukraine;
- are specialists/officials of departments whose powers include the implementation of youth policy (main target audience);
- are youth leaders who work with youth in the community (representatives of youth councils, employees of youth centers/spaces, representatives of youth civic organizations, etc.);
- have a clear understanding of a problem related to the implementation of a local youth program/strategy or social cohesion, and are willing to work on potential solutions for implementation in communities during the event.
