The Friedrich Ebert Foundation is delighted to announce its Young Citizens Forum, an inclusive program designed to address social, economic and political challenges at local, regional and global levels.
The program provides a platform for talented and engaged young individuals, including all activists, who are committed to promoting social justice and democracy.
Benefits

- FES Tanzania covers all expenses related to the program.
- Additionally, FES Tanzania will provide transport and accommodation costs for residents from upcountry and Zanzibar.
Program Specifications
- Participants gather for 2-3 days each session between May and November at the FES Office in Dar es Salaam. The sessions address a wide range of topics and skills, including essential communication, design thinking, social justice, urbanization, the global economy, and just transition. Participants engage directly in these sessions, which also include community visits to apply what they have learned. Some sessions are conducted online.
Eligibility Criteria
- To apply for the program, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Age: Applicants must be between 21 and 35 years old.
- Nationality and Residency: The program is open to Tanzanian citizens living in Tanzania (both Mainland and Zanzibar). Applicants must be available in the country for the full duration of the program.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification is required. However, students currently pursuing their first degree are also eligible to apply.
- Active Involvement: Applicants should be actively engaged in a project or initiative, or have previous experience in civil society, political parties, or trade unions.
