The Teach First Denmark its excited to announce its program and invites the most motivated and best qualified candidates to an admissions day.
If you are admitted to the program, you must participate in the summer or winter academy, depending on whether you start for summer or winter admission. It is an intensive preparation for the graduate program.
Funding Information
- The salary for new teachers is salary level 31, which corresponds to approx. DKK 34,600 per month incl. teacher allowance + 17.3 per cent in pension + 1.38 per cent. in discretionary allowances, which you choose yourself whether you want to receive as salary or pension.
Geographical Areas
- They collaborate with primary schools throughout the Capital Region as well as Kalundborg/the rest of Zealand. It is therefore of great value that you are flexible in relation to where you want to be a graduate. Regardless of which field you choose; they cannot guarantee you employment at a school close to where you live. The reason is that you will be employed at the school where there is a vacancy and the best match, and where you can make the biggest difference.
- You must prioritize the area when you apply. If you are offered admission, the area will appear in the offer. Your admission will be conditional on you still wanting the chosen area.
Eligibility Criteria
- They encourage all interested parties, regardless of age, gender, religion or ethnicity, to apply. They admit the best qualified applicants on the basis of entrance exams. Here are some of the things they look for:
- You can create good relationships: You show abilities to collaborate, recognize and motivate others. You meet everyone with high and positive expectations.
- You have drive and are persistent: You show the ability to handle opposition and resolve conflicts. And to keep going when it’s hard.
- You are committed and professionally skilled: You are professionally skilled and show the ability to think new things, take initiative, learn from yourself and engage others around you.
- You want to develop yourself: You are ambitious and motivated by challenges. You can use feedback to develop and achieve your goals.
Assessment Criteria
- Your written application will be read thoroughly by Teach First Denmark’s admissions committee. For the entrance exams, several different people will also meet you in the various exercises. The final assessment is based on an overall impression.
Application Requirements
- In the application form, you must attach:
- Your CV
- A motivated application
- Certificates and grades from your higher education
- Written application: possibly supplemented by a telephone interview if they need further information.
- Entrance tests: with selected applicants: Personal interview, case exercise and a practical teaching situation.
- Introduction: guiding conversations
- Admission to a credit teacher training program: at either the Absalom College of Professions or the Copenhagen College of Professions.
- Employment interviews at profile schools: via open job postings during the spring and towards the summer holidays. The schools hire the applicants they deem to be the best qualified – in accordance with the Norwegian Primary Schools Act. You must be prepared that you may be employed at a school with up to 1 hour of transport each way.
