Apply for the bangaloREsidency programme, a long-term collaboration between the Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore and various innovative and discerning contemporary art/cultural spaces and partners in Bangalore.
The aim of the bangaloREsidency is to offer artists living and working in Germany a space for creative expression, to face the challenges that come with living in a vibrant, modern Indian metropolis like Bangalore and to collaborate with local Indian artists.
What they fund?
- The bangaloREsidency 2024 will take place from October 6 to November 30.
- Costs for return travel (Germany-India) and for accommodation during the bangaloREsidency program
- A daily allowance of 15 € (for the duration of the residency), which adequately covers daily food and living expenses.
- Approved production costs up to a maximum of 1500 €
Criteria
- Artists from all disciplines who live and work in Germany.
- Artists are selected through an open call.
- The Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan will bear economy return airfare from Germany to Bangalore, and accommodation during the bangaloREsidency, in collaboration with the local host organisation. International health insurance has to be borne by the artist. Please make sure that your credit card provider is informed that you are travelling to India, so you don’t have a problem withdrawing money in India.
- The partner organisations/local hosts are generally unable to provide support for family members. Please also bear in mind that the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan bears accommodation and travel costs for invited residents only.
- They ensure that every resident has internet access at her/his/their accommodation. Additionally they provide an Indian SIM card with internet data. International calling is blocked.
- The SIM card must be returned to the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan at the end of the residency.
- You can buy all medicines and insect repellents in India. However, if you have special medical requirements, it is advisable to bring appropriate medication with you from Germany.
