The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) together with Switzerland, is organizing the Youth Workshop “Drops of the Future” on the Water-Food-Energy Nexus.
The workshop will take place in the margins of the 14th Central Asian Leadership Programme (CALP) on Environment for Sustainable Development.
Objectives
- The primary objectives are to:
- Build capacity for young – particularly female – professionals in the water, energy and food sectors in Central Asia to better manage trade-offs in the context of water security based on a systemic, cross-sectoral and intergenerational approach.
- Enhance the integration of youth perspectives in fora addressing water, food, energy, and climate issues.
Cost Covered
- The cost of travel, accommodation and meals for selected participants will be covered by the OSCE.
What to expect?
- Expert inputs and interactive sessions, elaboration of a future-oriented vision.
- Networking opportunities with experts and young professionals from other countries.
- Exploring the applications of the water-energy-food nexus during a field visit.
Eligibility Criteria
- Age and nationality: Young professionals aged 18-35, residing in Kazakhstan.
- Background: education and experience in the field of water management, food, energy, and environmental sustainability, or related fields.
- Commitment and skills: Participants should have demonstrated experience in relevant fields, excellent communication skills, and strong motivation to actively participate in workshop activities, including discussions and group work.
- Working language: the event will be carried out in English and Russian language, with consecutive interpretation.
