Deadline: 24 January 2025
The BIRCA Kids provides space for performing arts families based in Denmark (family is interpreted broadly and can include grandparents, for example) who wish to participate in a one-week family residency at BIRCA residency center, Bornholm.
The purpose is to invite children as co-creators in the artistic process, with a focus on children’s creativity.
The program focuses on cohesion between the selected families, where they support joint activities and dialogue through a creative start-up workshop, with the participation of My Grönholdt from the dance company MYKA, in the first few days.
Benefits
- Each family will be given 3 rooms and a rehearsal room with free use.
- All travel, accommodation and food expenses will be covered, and a fee of DKK 5,000 will be paid per family member who is a professional artist.
Eligibility Criteria
- They are looking for projects that focus on developing new methods for involving children in a creative process – preferably from a sensory and physical perspective, which involves the natural surroundings in which BIRCA is located through the use of natural elements such as water, grass, stones, trees, animals – visually, physically or audibly processed.
